Hey guys, are you sure about this frame? It is not look like Soviet made one. The badge yes, is USSR made, but frame… =)
This is a DDR Diamant frame with Gipiemme drop-outs. Its restoration concept was to be a “Soviet” bike.
Hey how about soviet frames? Are there any?
Please let us know!
Diaman is was pretty cool bikes, one of Moscow fixie riders has vintage one.
And for soviet frames, there were several models. Is was produces since 1952 by XB3 (HVZ) Kharkov based bicycle factory (now Ukraine) and Central Bicycle R&D Center (for pros and experimental).
Base model was named «Rekord», it was mass produced so-so quality training track bicycle for bicycle clubs and juniors.

Than, there were several upper qulity bicycles called «Meteor», «Sprint», «Sport». Good mid-quality bicycles for pro-riders.
This is 196x made «Sprint» http://media.photobucket.com/image/%2525D1%252585%2525D0%2525B2%2525D0%2525B7%20%2525D1%252581%2525D0%2525BF%2525D1%252580%2525D0%2525B8%2525D0%2525BD%2525D1%252582/george_nabiu11in/09052009.jpg
And around Moscow Olympic 1980 till 1992 were produced best soviet bicycles: «Moskva-80» and legendary «Takhion»
You can read its story here: http://www.bikecult.com/works/archive/03bicycles/takhionV.html
So we have something to make fixies on soviet material but its grey market of used frames.
